Pregnancy and after birth

Chiropractic visits during and after pregnancy

Visits for expecting and new parents, at a pace you set, with your midwife or OB kept informed if you ask.

Some of our doctors use the Webster technique, a specific light adjustment of the pelvis and the soft tissue around it. Ask the front desk which doctor does. We describe what we do, and we do not claim it changes how a pregnancy goes.

Who it is for

  • Expecting parents at any point in a pregnancy

  • New parents after birth

  • Parents whose midwife or OB knows they are coming

What a visit includes

A visit that follows your lead

  1. You tell us about your pregnancy

The doctor asks how you are, and whether you have any pregnancy complications. They also ask who your midwife or OB is.

  2. A look at how you move

Posture, movement and comfort, in positions that suit you.

  3. Care, only if the doctor recommends it

Light technique with pillows and supports, explained before it starts. You can stop at any time.

  4. A plain summary

What the doctor found, what they suggest and what they do not.

Good to know

Frequency, limits and cost

  • How long and how often

Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and reviews it with you at each visit. We do not promise a number of visits.

  • What we do not claim

We do not claim care changes how your pregnancy or birth goes, or how your baby is positioned.

  • See a physician first

Check with your OB or midwife first if your pregnancy is high-risk, and call them about bleeding, a sudden severe headache or anything that worries you.

  • How it is paid

We bill most PPO plans and some employer plans, and you hear the fee for each part before it happens.

Questions

Questions about pregnancy

Is there a point in pregnancy when I should not come?

You can come at any point, as long as your midwife or OB knows. If your pregnancy is high-risk, check with them first.

Will you talk to my midwife or OB?

With your written permission, yes. We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows.

Can I bring my other children?

Yes. A parent can bring a child, and we can book a visit for your child in the same trip.

Book a visit during pregnancy

Pick an office and a time, and the front desk will call.

  • A sudden severe headache or neck pain, dizziness, trouble speaking or seeing, new weakness or numbness, numbness in the groin or saddle area (between the legs and buttocks), or new bladder or bowel trouble needs emergency care now. Call 911 or go to an emergency room.
