Parent FAQ
What parents ask before they book
Plain answers about your child's visit, what it costs and what we do not claim.
What happens at my child's first visit?
You and your child talk with the doctor first. Then the doctor examines how your child moves and explains what they found, in plain words. Care starts that day only if you agree. A parent or guardian stays with a child under 18 for the whole visit.
What are the risks of chiropractic care for a child?
Like any health care, chiropractic care has risks. Soreness or tiredness after a visit is the most common. Rarely, more serious problems can happen. Your doctor explains the risks that apply to your child before any care, and uses light technique matched to your child's size and age. Some problems need a pediatrician or other physician first, and we will say so.
Will the visit hurt my child?
Your doctor tells your child what each touch will feel like before it happens, and stops if your child is uncomfortable. Some children feel a little sore afterward. Tell us if yours does, and we will adjust what we do.
How many visits will my child need?
Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and reviews it with you at each visit. We do not promise a number of visits, and you can stop at any time.
Do you take my insurance?
We bill most PPO plans and some employer plans, and what a plan pays differs from plan to plan. Our front desk checks your benefits before the first visit. The answer is the same at all four offices, and the full explanation is on How fees work.
What if we do not use insurance?
You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate, and we give you a written one before the first visit. Your doctor tells you the fee for each part of the visit before it happens, and we can give you an itemized receipt to send to your plan.
Does my child need x-rays?
Only when it is medically necessary. Your doctor explains why before taking any, and most first visits do not include them.
Can I bring my baby, or come while I am pregnant?
Yes. Babies are seen with a parent beside them, and expecting parents can come at any point in a pregnancy. We tell your midwife or OB we are seeing you if you ask us to, and we check with them first if your pregnancy is high-risk. We do not claim that care changes how a pregnancy or a birth goes.
What if my child already sees a pediatrician or another provider?
Please tell us. We ask for your child's health history at the first visit, and with your written permission we can share notes with the pediatrician. We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy. It is the same at all four offices.
Still have a question?
Call any office or send a message. The front desk answers on school days.
